Why are Operating costs so high?

Past councillors may have had good intentions, but good intentions do not control costs.

Past councils repeatedly approved budgets that increased staffing, management costs and
overall spending. Those decisions drove operating costs higher.

Past councils failed to increase commercial and industrial growth to keep pace with the residential growth they approved,
leaving current taxpayers to carry the burden of bringing new residents to Maple Ridge.

Under the current Maple Ridge council, between 2022 and 2025 saw estimated total management and senior-position costs increase 60.7% *

Maple Ridge needs someone at the Council table who understands what it takes
to attract major employers and business investment to expand our tax base.

Small business matters, but it is not my area of expertise.

My experience comes from working with some of the largest companies in the world.
I understand what major employers look for when selecting a location and
what Maple Ridge must do to compete for their investment.

Using that knowledge I will work with city hall staff and council to increase our business revenue.
